Yesterday from 2–4pm, Collinstown Park Community College hosted a dynamic hybrid workshop in collaboration with Microsoft’s Datacenter Academy (DCA), titled ‘Securing the Future – Physical & Cyber Security in the Datacenter Industry.’
The Microsoft event brought together an attentive audience of DCA students and instructors, eager to deepen their understanding of the critical intersection between physical and cyber security.
Presenters included Ollie Price and Pat Lawlor, who joined in person, and Lydia Jensen, who connected live from the US. All three are seasoned experts in the cybersecurity field and delivered a compelling session that explored how physical and digital safeguards work together to protect datacenter infrastructure and sensitive data.
Tailored especially for students in ICT and cybersecurity-aligned courses, the workshop offered practical insights into real-world security challenges and solutions. Feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing appreciation for the depth of expertise and relevance to their studies.
A heartfelt thank you to our presenters—Ollie, Pat, and Lydia—for their time, expertise, and passion. And to the students and instructors at Collinstown Park DCA—thank you for your energy and engagement. Here's to many more inspiring workshops ahead!
